Here's the gist of 2020 so far: Stay home and stay safe. But what about our dogs?
With the outbreak of COVID-19, everyone has been encouraged to stay home. Unfortunately for our dogs, that means no doggy parks. So what can we do for our dogs while socially distancing ourselves?

For starters, add a walk a day. Here are some tips on how to go about it:

  1. No park? No problem. Put your mask on and take him outside. Stay in your residence and out of your apartment. You'll both get a breather and a nice change of environment.
  2. Make sure your leash is strong. Neighbours can pass by anytime, use your leash to maintain a safe distance, and avoid running into cautious neighbors without their consent!
  3. Carry some tasty treats. It's the quickest and easiest way to get your dog's attention if he's getting out of control.
  4. Lastly, make sure you get a nice long walk. Even with a lack of space, these walks are imperative for their physical health. So you can time your walk and take an extra round if you need to.

These are just some basic ways to go for a walk with your dog while adhering to the norms of "social distancing." It's a difficult time for the world and, unfortunately, we have to abide by certain restrictions. However, with a few modifications, we can adapt to the new normal, maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep ourselves and our doggos happy! So remember:
Stay home, stay safe, and take care of your dog.
